Delete Your Account

You can delete your Same account at any time. It cannot be undone, and nobody is told.

In the App

1. Open Same and go to the You tab.
2. Open Settings.
3. Tap Delete Account, and confirm.

The account is deleted straight away.

Without the App

If you no longer have the app, or cannot sign in, write to hello@joinsame.app with the subject "Delete my Same account".

• Write from the email address your account signs in with, so we know the request is yours.
• If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, write from any address and tell us so. We will reply to the hidden address Apple gave us, which Apple forwards to you, and delete the account once you answer from there.

We delete the account within 30 days of confirming the request, and usually much sooner. We write back to say it is done.

What Is Deleted

Your profile, name, handle, email address, photograph, date of birth and town; your answers, notes and pinned cards; your friends, friend requests and blocks; your guesses; your messages in chats and groups; your push token and your settings.

What Is Kept, and for How Long

• Reports. A report made about you keeps the name and photograph you had, what the reporter wrote, and the conversation it came from, so it can still be dealt with. A report you made no longer says who made it. Either way, a report is kept until it has been dealt with and for 30 days after that, then deleted.
• Cards you wrote. A question you submitted that is now part of the deck stays in the deck, with nothing linking it to you.

Anything else your friends saw, they no longer see.
